You could use the cheap ones if eBay ( Chinese copy's ) but you just have to open out the pin hole a little as there too tight otherwise they snap as I found out lol

Yeah, I did mine ages ago as I was using a transporter to get to track days so I could just whip the bumper off to get it on the bed without damaging the bumper or ramps. Seems loads of others are doing it too now.

Yeah, I heard that mate. I will be giving them a properly good look over before fitting them although as they are only really holding the bumper in place they should be fine anyway.

They will hold it fine bud, it's the latch lever itself the back of it is not as thick as the real aero catch so the are easy to snap if your not carefull.

Is there a guide on this? Or would it be cheaper/better to just go for gaz? Not looking for maaaaad lows, 50mm lows and track/fast road use

It's cheap enough to be worth doing tbh. Look on the rally designs website and you can find all the parts. I found a build thread somewhere on here that a guy had done it bit by bit so you could see what parts to order and how it's done. I'll have a look and see if I can find it. If not, it's pretty easy once you see the parts on the rd website.

Ahh may look into this then, would really appreciate the link on how to build it, I have a spare set of struts I can refurb and rebuild into coilovers too.

Thanks Sam that's who's it was lol.

Got the tube from rally designs today. Awesome service again! Managed to get the measurements off the old struts and get it cut. I also got the lock rings on to check the threads weren't damaged with me trying to get them on the old buggered tubes.

Spray WD40 over the threads before you weld the tubes on alan it stops the weld splatter sticking to the threads and then hours of fun with a small file

Started to sort the coilovers at the weekend. Sam came up to lend a hand then a few of my mates turned up and things came to a standstill rather quickly lol. Any way... Here's some pictures of some of the progress.

Well, I have got the coilovers on and the ride height set just a little lower than it was. I think it looks a bit better and after taking it out for a test I can confirm they are loads stiffer than the apex springs! I took it out for a half hour blast that then turned into About an hour!

After maybe 20-25 minutes of town driving the brakes seem to start binding again. When I got home I realised I had too much brake fluid in the resevour so that has been removed and is Sat at the max mark now. I also found a thread about a missmatch in master cylinders and servos so had a look at mine as I can't remember if I put the vts one back on or the old one off the vtr... Either way, where the thread says that their should be an adjusting but inside the servo, mine doesn't have one SO, i'm hoping that the excess fluid was the problem and nothing else. Going to try and get another test drive tonight to check.

Looking forward to Friday now.

Also got a passenger seat just in the Nick of time!
