I have just built a gaming pc for around your money but that was just the base unit at around £500 plus £150-£200 for monitor plus £100-£150 for mouse, keyboard and headset as you can see no really cheap way of going about it tbh

£450.. Good luck with that man. You won't get much of a spec with that even assuming it's just for the tower.

One thing to consider is that as soon as anyone builds a PC it is out of date instantly.
The more you put into it the longer it will stay decent.
I spent just over a grand 4 years ago any my PC will just about run the current games.

Oo I'd never spend that due to exactly what you just said! Technology goes out of date so fast.

But for what you're paying you will be getting tech that is already out of date.

There is all sorts of websites, your best off researching what set up you want then searching for the parts individually. There is the odd occasion you can pick up a no longer wanted gamer pc off eBay for a bargain.
My PC is now about 2-3 years old and can still run MOST games on mid to high specs.

Just buy a good case and a good motherboard.... And mod over time when you have the money.
I've got a bad ass antec 900-2 case, 4 gig ram. good mobo and an i5 intel.
I can always add to it over time.

You can't build a gaming PC for £450, simple as that.

I really would not bother in a pc I have wasted so much money on pcs trying to keep up with the tech, I had one of those i7 2600k chips clocked the beast to 5.2ghz on 4cores and 4threads was beast so if you could get one of those you will be good for at least 3-4 years. I don't have a pc now sold it as i never really used it! But i have an Xbox 360 instead much better I'd say
