Default Omex ecu plugs question

Im after a male and a female omex plug if they make them? I want to extend the ecu into the car behind the dash, problem is to keep it tidy i need to

1. Wire it either side of the bulkhead to avoid drilling a massive hole

And 2. Extend the original plug i have to make it reach.

Would having another plug on there to make it longer make it messier or should i just chop the 5 or 6 cables that are too short and solder them.

Does soldering cause any recognisable resistance or enough to cause issues?

Thanks

Cut and solder or buy a bulkhead connector so you have a detachable engine loom. Simples.

No. Such a thing doesn't exist. Just use any old connector as long as you're happy with the standard.

Fear my epic drawing skills

so your saying the best bet is to change it from number (1) on the drawing.

to number (2), by cutting the lines, matching them up on any old plug from the list you linked me, and pin them up from (for example) 1 through to 32. then pin them the same from the other side of the bulkhead fitting to the original omex plug.

also.

bulkhead connectors are ££££, as is anything with the "motorsport" or "military" tags.

I'd go with a bigger grommet.

Its looking like im just going to extend the wiring then use some velcro straps to hold the ecu to the bulkhead insulation or something much easier than repinning onto another plug.

Fairly sure omex 600 ecu uses a rover k series plug so could you not sabatage an ecu and mount the socket in your bulkhead and solder a new plug to the inside ??
