pass!
I dont really have much knowledge of their setup. I thought the angle could do with being higher so longer trumpets can be used as its slightly compromised I feel but they should be ok for 200bhp.
There are not many true 200bhp+ saxos to test a theory on though lol
Nice bit of kit really. Shame I can't sell them.

Thanks for all the comments chaps.
Mapping went well. I've got some bits and bobs uploading now, but the vid is taking ages. Will at least another half hour...
Alex got most of the engine bits right. It's also got forged rods and arp rod bolts. Final figure was 182.3bhp at the fly, and 164bhp at the wheels, achieved at 7600rpm. Max lb/ft was 135.3 at 6300rpm.
The final bhp figure was just 3 more than the old engine, however, there's some nice gains in power and torque throughout the rev range. I've got some graphs to post up, and I've got one which overlays the previous engine with the new one.
Everything feels great so far. Loads of torque, but I'm used to getting that big kick around 5000rpm. You still do, but you get an even bigger kick around 6500rpm, and it just feels like you're taking off!
An oil cooler will be an absolute must. I was driving steady back from Pug1Off, doing 70mph, and the oil temp was creaping in between half and 3/4's.

Congratulations. Remember that you will be forever having arguments about how much power it has and it will vary depending on who's rolling road you use. But it sounds like it is a really healthy engine with plenty of go
Am I right in thinking your new engine has the standard valves and a standard head?
Thanks,
John.

Thanks
It's a C2 head / engine. We've had some work done on the valve seats to accept the bigger valves. It's not been flowed...

I think too many people see throttlebodies as a way of gaining lots of top end power but usually its the midrange that you see the big gains.

You say the seats have been cut for bigger valves, did you use a larger valve than the standard C2 jp4 head has? or just cut the seat to improve flow with the standard valve still in use?
I must say I'm impressed at the figures you've got with a standard head and valves. At least 115bhp/litre - which is similar to what you would get from a 2.0 type-r engine, not many engines will get over 100bhp/litre without modifying the cylinder head. Great stuff.
John.

Here's a vid of some rr action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRPBldBzbdo
Anyone know how to get a better picture quality? The actual file was over 160mb big, and looks a lot better before uploaded to YouTube.
Here's some graphs:
This shows the new engine versus the old. Some nifty gains in certain areas.
And the final graph:
The stretch or torque is just fantastic!

Hmm. I'm not sure actualy. My previous head died, and that was a BV head, flowed, the works. The exhaust valves were damaged, so we put new ones in the C2 head. As we didn't use the standard ones already in, they must have been different in some way. I'd need to ask Matt about that, it's something which has slipped my mind completely.

looks like it runs quite rich up to 6500rpm if i'm reading the graph right.
I think you will be able to get even better results with another mapping session to adjust the fuel, but that can come at a much later date after you've enjoyed blatting around

Nah, Troy spent all morning on ignition and fuelling. It's about as good as it's gonna get.
