Default filling gearbox oil

i need to no how you fill the gearbox with oil, i no where the drain plug is, but dont no were the refill part is, could someone tell me please, also which oil do i need for a saxo vtr box? and will i need a tool for the bungs? cheers guys.

hi mate on my saxo if you open the bonnet up and look down at the gear box there is a black cap about the size of a penny, shuould just pull of and there you go. Cant remember what oil it was i just used the halfords guide

a vts gear box uses 70 - 80 gear box oil, but vtr maybe different,

there are 2 plugs on the side of your gearbox. if you look at your gearbox from the passengers side, the one at the bottom left is the drain plug and the one a bit higher to the right is the level/refill plug.

remove the level/refill plug
fill through plug hole until oil leaks out
refit plug

There's a very easy way to fill the gearbox oil

if you buy from Peugeot / Citroen it's Esso Gear Oil 75w80 with the PSA logos

here it costs about 15 Euro 2 liters.. not so much.

Use a funnel and a hose connected to it. put the hose in the filling hole and pass it to the top of the engine bay. so you can slowly add the oil by the funnel and it goes down with gravity.

That's how i filled my saxo few weeks ago and used to do in the S1 Rallye.

the other way is using one of these



that you can buy in most auto parts or tool stores...
