All for sale thread locked. - Saxperience

Seen this on a few forums, not sure if it has been mentioned before but i think it would make things run a lot easier!

Every for sale thread is automatically locked when it's made. This will mean that everything needs to be done via PM and you won't get people spamming saying that it's to expensive and "i sold mine the other day for ££££, you don't stand a chance of getting this!"

Any thoughts?

i think its good to see what poeple say nd whatthe seller has to say. if the seller misses a detail out he will then recieve loads of pms asking for the detail, instead now 1 person asks it and everyone sees it?

personaly i dont like the idea

If someone asks for a detail then the thread can always be edited by the creator.

Na i can see what you say. It's just amazing the amount of shit that gets posted in some for sale threads. Also it would be one less thing for the moderators to have to worry about. They would just read the first so they know it's not being advertised for someone else and then that would be that.

A guy is selling his dad's clio on here. He clearly states that he knows that it's a tad expensive and there are still people telling him so. Not really helpful to the thread lol.

yeah there is shit put on them, but how about the seller having control of deleting pointless posts on the thread? only in the for sale section this is??????

Pretty sure it would be more to implement that system into the forum. Would kind of be giving people moderator rights and i'm sure people would abuse it some how!

i think all comments to help the forum will be taken in to concideration.
but sometimes there are alot of negatives to weigh up the possitives

it would atleast stop certain members bumping 14 threads every hour of the 'wing for sale, door for sale, mirror for sale' which just clogs up the front page with their shit as they cant keepbumping it.

However having an open discussion can make people decide about people, for example if someone asks a question which is genuine everyone can see the response/how they respond, eg if they are rude or helpful.

However i do think it is a good idea. But i would say dont implement it.

That's a good point. Could be used on a trial maybe? For a week or two. See how people get on and if it works happy days. If not we go back to the old system.
