Default For sale section

Can there not be a few more rules for people that want to sell items.

Its annoying how some people just write for sale - alloy wheels

what alloy wheels? any tyres? what make? Condition? What size? does it fit a saxo?

Items should be described in as much detail as possible etc so people don't have to make a three page thread just to find out what exactly is for sale.

Also there should be a rule that states you must post a picture of the item.

Don't know how many times i see - yeh i will get some pics tommorrow.

If you want to sell an item then get pictures of it before posting.

More of a rant really, but where is everyones common sense. If someone put an ad on ebay just saying alloy wheels with no pictures or description, they would never sell.

Maybe add it to the rules for a start.

It can be enforced by members, like the rule about having to state a price, whenever someone doesnt put a price, the very first post usually says 'forum rules say you have to state a price.'

I don't really expect you to have to enforce it day and night but if a lot more people take note then it will be easier to buy and sell things.

If i see a for sale thread that is 3 or more pages long, i assume its sold because i'm not reading through 3 pages just to find out what it is thats for sale.

he has a point, people should not post with pics, then say pics up tomorrow, as the thread falls and then they bump it back up. Instead of just waiting until they had pics in first place.

I think people should have their for sale threads deleted if they do not post a picture of the item they are selling, and not just any old pic from the internet,It should a pic of the real item they are selling.

Also the person should write as much info as they can about the item they are selling, but you cant really make that a rule imo.

On ClioSport whenever a car is listed for sale, all the titles follow the same format

EG

2004 Renault Clio 182 £5995
1996 Renault Clio 1.2 £550

etc.

Might be worth trying to form some sort of title-based rules

EG

4x White OZ Superturismo WRC Good Condition £500
BMC CDA Saxo VTR Induction, Good Condition £55

etc.

Fed up with seeing "Alloys for sale, cheap!" and then being like £900 borbets or something, and having to trawl through all the electric window switches and gearknobs etc, to try and find some lowering springs.

You have a fair point though Ryan, it would mean more work, or perhaps extra For-Sale section specific Mods.

This is more down to people either not knowing how to make a clear advert or cannot be bothered to.

Short of creating a new 'create an advert' button/function then the sticky on rules could be changed to include a pic of an example advert. Not that 90% of people pay attention to stickys.
