But then I'll just want another new TV when more is. Rather get a 4k TV now and pretend I'm future proof.

Think a fair few of them have dropped lately.
You're on PS4 right, John? You can pre-load digital downloads can't you?
Friend said he couldn't work it out earlier when buying GTA but pretty sure he's just being retarded

4k movies don't (really) exist yet. There's not a single channel broadcast in 4k, and wont be for some time. I'd estimate it'll be 18+ months before it's even close to mainstream.
Buying a 4k TV now is a poor idea IMO unless you've money to throw away. I just bought a new TV last week - had a choice between a samsung 4k 65" @ £3600 or a samsung 1080 65" at £1650. No prizes for guessing what I went for.

There's a little lag on very fast scenes (PS3 shows this up) and obviously 1080 stretched to a 65" tv softens the image a little. Other than that it's an awesome bit of kit. I'm very pleased

I was looking at 4k tv's myself these last couple of weeks as I've decided to treat myself to an early Xmas present but after reading up on the 4k's I decided not to bother basically based on what Ross has already mentioned. So I'm going for the one below as all the reviews I've read are mostly positive with very little negatives apart from the weird magic remote thing and it was one of the What Hi Fi Sound an Vision TV's of the year too. I'm not terribly fussed about 3d or the smart features tbh as I am on Virgin Media, but it still seems a decent set.

But yeah no I went to see them both got carried away and bought the LG, was not planning to buy that day but whatever it was pretty sexy.
Definitely wont fit on my current TV stand and I started looking at sound bars while I was in there so I think I'm going to be wasting more money soon.

Nah I didn't did go there first though but they said they didn't have it to view and didn't know when they'd have any in stock.
