Right then...

Managed to get a few more pictures onto photobucket.

Once the engine build was complete, I ordered a few more parts ready for when the engine went back in.

New driveshafts...

New Nissen rad...

New front brake flexi lines...

Oil pressure gauge and cage mount...

Modified my quaife knob to fit the sachshift...

The next challenge was getting everything from where I work/live in Surrey, all the way to my parents in North Lincolnshire. Luckily I had a change of daily driver a couple of months ago. The S2000 was sold a replaced with this...

So everything fitted pretty well...

All arrived safe and sound...

We got the final few parts fitted before the engine went in...

Then the engine finally went in...

Once the engine was in, it meant the driveshafts could go in and the front corners fitted...

Now the car could be put on its wheels for the first time in over a year and given a wash...

Once the car was clean, we got a few more parts fitted and called it a day...

I'll uplaod a bit more progress in a bit

Love this.

Where did you get the funky looking carbon alternator cover from?

Thanks mate.

Its an alternator cooling duct for a gt3 race engine. It was damaged and couldn't be fitted to a customer engine. Before I threw it in the bin, I tried it on the saxo engine. It fitted perfectly.

Just need to run some ducting to it now.

Its nice to come back to the forum and still see people doing a proper job! Incredible workmanship.

Just check you haven't got paint on the engine that prevents any earthing from the alternator etc

Thanks mate.

Yeah I always make sure I clean any paint off any mating surfaces. Don't want anything working loose mainly.

Small update...

Bought a few more bits for the car.

New helmet...

Magnets to keep the harnesses out the way when you're getting in...

Painted the catch tank and sorted some breather pipes out...

Made a new bracket for the catch tank...

Collected the Pro-Comp...

Shot of the underneath...

Got the brakes bled up...

Oil pressure gauge all wired in...

Finished engine bay...

That's how it stands at the minute.

Hoping to bed the engine in this weekend.

I'll try and upload the vid from when we tried to start it.

Literally the first turn of the key...

http://vid693.photobucket.com/albums...7C74AD245F.mp4

Sounds a bit tappety until the buckets fill up with oil.

As you can imagine, I was fairly happy with that.

Also, how do you plan to try and get more air to the Pro Comp? Opening up a bit the slam panel or just leave it like that?

Thanks mate.

The red cap on the throttle body just came from work, we have a drawer full of assorted sizes. Not sure where we get them from though.

I planned on hole sawing a few holes in the slam panel, but realised that wouldn't work. We are going to leave it as it is for now and over winter look at cutting the slam panel.

Thank you!

Another small update.

After we got the engine up and running, the plan was to finish of a few little jobs, then get the engine bed-in.

We got the aero catches fitted to the fibreglass bonne, then built up the front end...

All ready to be bed-in...

So we got it loaded onto the trailer to take down to where my Dad works to bed the engine in...

Unloaded...

and a couple of videos of us driving it around...

http://vid693.photobucket.com/albums...B180226F41.mp4

http://vid693.photobucket.com/albums...4A3C225E1E.mp4

The car had no problems at all. We ran it for over an hour from about 3000-5000rpm with medium load.

A few shots of the engine bay...

I'll try and get a few more pics and vids uploaded asap.

The car has now been mapped and made good power.

First trackday is booked at Blyton as a bit of a shakedown on 3rd October.
