It'll go ok I think
My co-driver Steve wants a sub 10:00 on his first trip to the ring in it, and a sub 9 by the end of next year so that's really all we're building it for. And I can do that for sure, but he's never been there so there's lots of work to do

Should have kept the 106, surely that would have done the job?

No thanks! I'd rather have something drive-able with 200hp than something with 450 and unusable!
Well, actually I'd rather have 450hp and 4wd... Wait. I've got that already.

What was the thinking when building it then? Just try and squeeze as much power out as possible?

Sub 10 should be do able on a first trip as I did 10:30 my first time in a suzuki swift sport (and not a massively prepped one either) oh and it was LHD so he'll have no problems. Sub 9 is fairly easy even in a standard cup so i'll think you'll be okay on that front too

Aye but he's never been to the ring eh - I'm on 71 laps now so know my way round but still have a lot to learn myself. Pretty sure I'll go sub 9 but we'll see!
What do you mean Brett? The 106? Yeah get a lot of power, show it off, drive it fast in a straight line, get respect for it being awesome. Instead it was a money pit that was undrivable - and just got rolled out for shows lol.

don't talk rubbish.
Anything sub 9 is pretty quick, not "easy".

The cage is certified and serialised so it's good for racing if we ended up doing that - and everything else (seats/harnesses etc) is in date (as brand new). The rest of the rules we've probably met or would be able to if we needed to fairly easily. We've no intention of racing just yet though - it's just for trackdays and a bit of fun!
The exhaust is also made by the cage company - JC Weldfab.

Function over form tends to.
How's your aging bmw? Must be due classic car insurance soon? That'll be nice for you - will probably be able to afford to use super-plus fuel then not 95 eh.

Lol Kev no one purple car is quite enough!
Interior is all back in now (pretty much) and doors and tailgate refitted.
Made up some door cards and fitted handles and switches - luckily we measured correctly so the cage doesn't conflict. Phew.
Not much more to do really now so it's getting exciting!

Electric mirrors and windows, floor mats! Sir, this is not the stereotypical track car we at Sax-P are used to
