Wheels are back on, driveshaft/hub nuts torqued up, exhaust sorted and its back outside now. Started up first time too which is always nice when you've had most of it apart!
Did chip the paint on the cam cover though so will likely repaint it or source a new one.

@Birdy Cheers mate, let me know how you get on with that box. I trust the journey home was OK?
@Dean Cheers mate, needs a tidy up still but I'm getting there with the parts I want getting fitted

The s1 box has made it hilarious to drive, such fun compared to the vtr box. Where the VTR would bog a bit at low revs if pulling away, this just enables the engine to pull hard. Gotta be careful when launching though, it'll spin up if you aren't on it and thats on sticky 888s

Not tried it on the motorway mate, doubt this car will ever be used much on one it'll only be going to and from tracks and then it might be on a dolly/trailer

No plans as yet just general tidying but I think of something to add. Yeah I've got quite a big torque wrench for the hub nuts, I had to buy another small one as this one doesnt go low enough to do head bolts etc!

Thanks mate, its not the cleanest tidiest saxo ever but it was only meant as a bit of toy for some fun. Think the next step is making the most of this rallye J cam, I'm looking into different fuelling and induction setups

Done a few little jobs on the car this evening.
Outside before starting:
Removed the sunroof and am mid cleaning it all up after the previous owner got trigger happy with the caulking gun and tiger seal. All it needed was the drains unblocking to stop water ingress, so I'm left with the task of picking all the sealant off and cleaning it all up again.
I also moved the window switches up into the radio blanking plate along with the fan switch. Just need to put the oil temp gauge in so have had the soldering iron out, just need to fit it tomorrow and run feeds to power it from the radio wiring.

Car is back outside now, sunroof is much better not covered in silicone/tiger seal. Just need to wire up the oil temp gauge as I didnt get time, only managed to get the wiring fitting

Gauge is now in and working using the rallye sump sender, and it moves when the oil gets up to temp Might need a new sender though/gauge as this one the scale is very bunched up in the normal range I find but i'll do some testing and take a sample of the oil when warm to test the temperature and compare what the gauge reads
