Default Is this big bolt on the starter motor for the LIVE?

Been arsing about with this for 2 weeks now and finally think I've found the problem... There's a chunky ring terminal just hanging about in the engine bay and then this bolt on the starter motor - is this for live? Just before I go connecting a live to an earth and blowing the shit out of myself..

sorted that out, now the engine is just turning over as though no fuel is getting through

Run a live feed to the pump from the battery and see if it starts. I reckon its probably your fuel pump relay, clean it up and and try it
