Cunning plan sir, hats off. I know a guy who had a 306 rallye, he always left it unwashed, caked in bird shit and lots of junk in the innterior so nobody would go near it.

have you checked for rot on the chassis legs under the bonnet? boot floor and sides? chassis both sides? and more then likely bumper mounts. (I would take off all arch liners etc and treat any issues / future proof it a little)

This won't leave marks on the steering wheel unless I'm careless with taking it on and off.
my dad had a kill switch on an old sri 130 in the 90’s never got stolen they fucked it up trying though the cunts them stoplocks just help them break the steering lock

Update.

Spent a day last week at Pug1Off getting some much-needed bits done to the VTS.

- New disks and pads all round, including a new caliper
- Full service - very impressed with the level of detail they go into/things they check
- New aerial... someone snapped mine off!
- They also fixed my battery light issue for free - I thought I needed a new alternator but a wire was just fried as it was touching the manifold. All sorted!

(The team at Pug1Off are great - very friendly and knowledgable).

HOWEVER...

- They identified a few rust patches... nothing outrageous, but in need of some future proofing, ideally before the next MOT. ££££

In other news, it hit 130,000 miles the other day and it still drives beautifully.

Still needs a machine polish though.

Thinking of getting a Saxsport 2 inch outwardly rolled tip exhaust next - with a sports cat.

Do it. Best exhaust I ever fitted was a 2" outward rolled Saxsport.

I agree with that, I do keep looking on ebay for saxo's, only for a browse.

I do miss my old VTS but still good to see others carrying the legacy on.

Gone quiet recently, the VTS is currently getting all the rust sorted, along with a fresh MOT. It'll soon be back on the road!

This breaks my heart, but I can longer afford to fix the VTS.

It's currently in the garage, based in Brackley.

MOT has just expired and it will need rust repair in the usual places to get through.

If anyone would like to buy it, please let me know.
