Default Lowering when stripped out

When I first bought my saxo I fitted 35mm apex lowering springs and stripped the interior all in 1 go and I bet that it didnt even go down 20mm,now I changed for some h&r springs which are a lot thicker and stiffer. There ment to be 30mm lowering springs and I cut half a coil off, fitted 1 today and I bet it’s as high as a standard saxo, can fit 4 fingers in the arch gap. It’s ridiculous any 1 had a similar situation

Yes

If you take weight out of a car with standard springs, the ride height will increase.

30mm lowering springs means 30mm lower than the ride height you get with the standard car.

If you take weight from a standard car, and the body height goes up 30mm, then fitting 30mm lowering springs will put the body back to standard ride height with the reduced weight.

How did you manage this? We tried to fit cut springs last year and they didn't seat right.
