Thanks for the bumps chaps. Even if it has taken me a month to notice them !! I'm afraid not much has been taking place. Its been very hectic at this end with continuing renovating my house and leaving my job of just over 3.5 yrs at Mitsubishi to try something different at a Honda and Hyundai Dealership.
Now i am a bit more settled i am going to crack on with the xsi and hoping to have all the jobs on it ready for an MOT mid March. I know it seems Months away but will soon creep up on me so set me a reasonable deadline.
Also after all the yrs of owning french cars i have never attended fcs so 2014 could well be the year !
Anyways enough of my chat.
Since i last posted i have made a start on the brake lines. Got the airbox bracket sitting where i will be bolting it down
And today i have got the side bars fitted
So all in all bugger all has happened haha

Thanks ben. Its an OMP half cage. Believe its an old style that bolts to the rear arches as opposed to a new style that bolts to the boot floor.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong

Thought i would do a small update
Firstly i purchased some wheels off dan-sport
16" Nimrods in i believe Ford Signal red
Thought i would try one to see how they look. Jurys out on them at the mo
And a couple of items i ordered turned up this week.
Some powerflex Beam bushes, flo-flex exhaust rubbers and a 3/4 size front numberplate
Planning to have the plate here

Today i did a few jobs on the xsi
Not sure if i put this pic up but i decided to rebadge the car. Think the xsi badge is slightly on the cock but will sort it.
And here is what i have been upto
Fitted the powerflex beam bushes
Beam off :
New powerflex bushes:
Took i while to get the beam back into place. Was just being awkward - suppose its not an easy task on your own anyway
And now i have the std exhaust back on in preperation for getting it Mot'd
Next task is definatly sort the brake lines out.

Thanks for taking the time to read it ! Better pull my finger out and get sorting bits out
I have been on a bit of a spending spree. And Mr Postman dropped the majority off today - bet he was cursing me.
So we have:
New wishbones
Powerflex front wishbones bushes
350mm dished wheel
Ford Puma Gear knob
Bosch wiper blades
And in preparation for the road a few service items
Oil filter
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Just waiting on pinch bolts for the wishbones and will get fitting

Cheers David. Its slowly coming together.
Today i had a couple of hours to spare so decided to fit the Ford Puma gear knob - i was fed up of the old one coming off in my hand.
So started off with original but chopped down xsi gear knob.
I decided to take the gear stick out and in the vice to run a thread down it
After drilling and tapping the gear knob i fitted back onto the car
Pics aren't the best but was in the garage. It was raining outside and didn't want to get wet hair

Another update
This week a few bits have been happening. Firstly i took my new wishbones and powerflex bushes to work and end result.
And another parcel arrived
So today got fitting
Removed old wishbones - with new wishbones and pinch bolts
Then started fitting rocker covers
I just need to plumb the breathers in

Thanks mate. Not going to deny a fair amount of work has gone into it over the years. Still much more to come !!
Well its my usual Sunday update. Not a major update but i pulled the dash out as the heater matrix is dripping occasionally so i will be replacing that for a new one. And whilst the dash is out i shall have a tidy of the wiring and check to see if i can take anymore wires out.
I could bin the heater off but after reading a few peoples views i think i may regret it !!

Not much progress has been happening lately. But i have managed to sort the breathers on the rocker covers
I have swopped the heater matrix over (no pictures) but found signs of the leak. The matrix pipes were that hard to get at so had to remove the top half of the inlet. Still struggled ! But im a persistant bugger and finally bled the system back up.
I then got back into the car to make a start of tidying up the wiring
And a couple of relays and wires i have managed to get rid of
Lights on buzzer relay and electric windows relay
Im hoping to have the dash back in towards the end of the week

Well not much progress in here
The dash has started to go back in with the wiring tidied up.
But i have been after an upper brace for a while that sits at the back when a mate on facebook posted one up for sale.
He thought it may have been a Raceland with Sparco sticker but after looking at other Sparco braces seems indentical.
This needs to be sprayed up - thinking white.
And quickly bolted down
Progress will be slow again now as i had an operation on my hand yesterday so no mot by the end of March as i was hoping.
