Are they 1800 or 1600s?

B16 is 1.6, B18 is 1.8.
Think the 'teggy is a 1.8 litre

i have been talkin with my m8, who had a ek9 as he has the engine going spare, and i have a spare saxo shell, we are also thinking about putting the b16b into it, but were looking int mateing a b20 bottom end with the 16 head, to counter the low down torque issue of the b16b,
reason for spare engine =
the engine and gearbox ar fine luckily, will be keeping an eye on this, and will be starting a thread ourselves soon

No real progress being made at the moment as I can't collect the car until the New Year, however I'm torn between doing a Mk2 front end conversion or sticking with the Mk1.
Reason being it is going to be super light and the Mk2 fg bonnet I had on my old VTS will be top of the shopping list if I do Mk2 it.
(also I have to admit I prefer the look of the Mk2 front end - and it means I could also paint the cage orange and do another set of wheels orange if I want )

less room round the mk2 engine bay mate, which might restrict you later on!
nice conversion, though i would have considered a different engine!

I'd like to see it kept mk1 just cos not many cars that have this much work done seem to be mk1's... Definatly do the orange cage and wheels again though, it's like your trademark

Mad project.
Keep it mk1, less on the road now, and will be a future classic.

Mk1 looks better imo, but I think you should do another MK2.
I want the quickest MK1 round here
