Default 2 12's or 1 15" sub???

i have two 12" pioneers which gives loads of bass however they take up the whole of my boot and I have no space for anything. Would 1 15" be better for me? would it give the same bass as my 2 12's???

Generally 12s give you a more punchy bass and a 15 will give you a deeper bass. A 15 box will dominate 3/4 of your boot but I guess 2 x 12 takes the whole of your boot, so theres not much in it. Got a 15" wharefdale sub for sale if you want it?

was thinking of getting a kicker L7 15" sub, but as you say that there aint much difference in the space used by a 15" compared to two 12's I might aswel just keep my two 12's as I love the bass they produce, however they do weigh a hell of a lot tho which affects my acceleration!!!

The Kicker L7 subs do run in small boxes, maybe worth a look.

What sort RMS are each of the Subs putting. Best bet is to compaire the RMS from 2 12"'s to 1 15" as that will tell you how much bass your gonna get in genral. people tend to say 12" subs sound better but that could be down to oppion.

Could always upgrade the amp. or get a expencive 12" sub and box and Amp.

RMS isnt the biggest factor in this debate

obviously a pair of 12"s with 5000wrms combined is going to destroy a 15" with 10wrms but were likely to be talking similar figures here

for this kind of set up, id be looking at around 1000wrms from either 2 12"s or 1 15".. @ 2ohms or less

something like: 2x:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/asce...9mniasetr3kbq1

or 1x:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dyna...9mniasetr3kbq1

of similar rms figures, the 2 12"s will put out more bass, simply because theres more cone area. (no replacement for displacement)

as for 12" sounding better over 15", its more a myth, yes it is true in a lot of cases, but a £500 15" will most likley have a lot tighter bass than a £50 12" sub

either way, if your looking at big power (which from what i see you are) your going to completly fill your boot with a box, maybe even have to remove the rear seats
