Default car audio sorted, need advice on sound deadning..?????.,,,,,

hi all, after saving some more pennies i can now afford this set-uP

front comps:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/4889.html

sub:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/8335.html

amp:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/8506.html

hopefully thats an ok set-up....anyways:

gonna build my own boot build, plans are MDF carpeted, one side with a cut out to amp spec, with amp showing upwards (covered by some sort of fibreglass) then one side with a cut out of the sub box (only 2/3mm deep so it does not move around in boot)

now i need to minimise as much as possible the rattle, where do i start ?

advice would be great

cheers

Well, get some sound deadening first. I use SS dampliflier available from CAD.
For starters I would line your boot and do you doors, seal up your doors so they act as an enclosure for your speakers.
Mount your speakers on mdf rings (painted or varnished to stop mould).
Those are the main areas, but if you got plenty of cash just keep goin.
Plates (sticky tape here), rear wipers (get rid of), parts of the dashboard (dum dum) and areas of the boot are where you often get rattles or annoying buzzing, some people use expanding foam.

mcbain thanks rear wiper has gone, and plates have been sticky padded on back, also noticed my spoiler rattled quite a bit so tried to get it off ( managed to sticky pad one side which is not noticeable ) but one side would not unbolt/screw

No problem, I haven't got a spoiler so no probs for me there.
Best thing to do after you've done the regular things is to just see how it goes and keep an ear out.
