Anyone on here play guitar? if so could anyone please explain why these 2 chords below are both E7, but are completely different.

i play the guitar but dont get me wrong..i aint a pro..

i think they are both the same and produce a similer sound...
theres loads of chords that are the same but are played different...think its just to do with which ever your more comfortable with playing..
and i think people create new chords to suit begginers and such

Iye, just a similar sound..

can use either, but will be easier to use one than the other depending on the previous chord and what style your playing.

Just think of it as playing Chords lower down the neck compared to playing your basic A,E,D,G,F,C at the top of the neck.

There are like 4 versions of e7th, i always use the first one you have shown
