I have had the phone for well over a year and i have gone through my numbers and got rid of the nobodys, got rid of texts, even emails but i dont think that helps and 14.8mb free on my phone. I used to love this phone but soon it may have to learn to fly.

14.8mb?!

start by deleting all the apps you don't use, move videos/music to memory card see if that frees it up.

my lass had a htc that had to go back because she had a memory full problem too, but wasnt a desire, could be a common fault??

I had one, the apps have to run on the internal memory as they are core to the system.

I dont know and dont think there is away around it.

Move pictures and videos on to memory card and have apps only on the interal memory.

I know the internal memory is not big on them so got rid.

This is a very common fault with the Htc phones especially the desire, desire hd/s,
I replace these handsets on a daily basis at work due to there faults, another common one is the random crashing or freezing on the boot screen.

I have a htc cha cha and it did the same, but ive now moved all the contacts which was the biggest file at over 20mb onto the card and deleted them all off the phone and it cleared up 30mb of space :-S

I had the same phone and the exact same issue, now i have the sensation xl, its all to do with

the lack of internal memory. A lot of the bigger apps cannot be saved on the SD card , I.e.

adobe reader, facebook, flash player, YouTube etc. So I found myself deleting the facebook

app as It was the biggest waste of memory and constantly having to clear the data on each

app. If you go to settings > applications then click on the biggest data using apps, then 'clear

data', this usually frees up some memory.

Also have you done the android 2.3 update for your desire? It's a manual update that

effectively debrands the phone and clears a lot of the shit off it, only problem is it deletes all

your apps and contacts and stuff, so you'd either need to back them up beforehand or just

install them all again.

Here's a link with a guide on how to do it: http://m.techradar.com/news/phone-an...oid-2-3-986502

I did this when I had my desire and i found it helped a lot
