Default cleaning aluminised steel mani

What the best stuff to use for cleaning a janspeed aluminised steel manifold, I've hard that if you use anything too sting it can penetrate the protective layer. Or maybe painting would be a better option?

Thanks Adam

What kind of finish are you after? If you just want it clean I'd use some neat APC (all purpose cleaner) and a few brushes and if that's no good maybe try a wheel cleaner.
