Default Anyone use additives or anything?

I've always been skeptical of things such as STP and Redex, and never thought they would actually work, but I was pleasantly surprised today.

With an offer at the checkouts at halfrauds of 2 for £2 on STP additives, i bought the "Injection Cleaner" and "Engine Rattle Stop" and found that to some degree it actually worked. The engine noise is now one whole sort of chain of noises rather than seperate noises if that makes sense? And I noticed a definite Improvement in the first "press" on the accelerator if accelerating hard.

I'm not saying It's fantastic, but it's definately something I'll consider buying every now and again.

Anyone got any thoughts on additives etc?

Redex fucks up your injectors. Makes them tappy as fook and eventually they break. Very commonly witnessed problem with redex

Never, ever had a problem with it.

Wont get any performance gains, as such, unless your injectors were gunked up to fuck, then it'll clean em out, and it'll seem better.

I'm sure 1/4 of the bottle (first mark on bottle) into half a petrol tank should be fine... That will shift the dirt

Should i do this everytime you fill up, seems very expensive way to fill up. or just like once a month?

a shot of redex every 3 months or so is fine, dont use it to often, and if you go for the bigger bottles make sure you put the right ammount in.. and not all of it, since that will cause damage

You should never have to use any fuel or oil additives if your car is looked after. Often they will do more damage than good. Your far better off treating your car to fresh fluids and filters any day.

Agree 100%..

Regular oil changes on the intervals in the maintainence guide will prevent and necessity for engine flushing etc..

As for injector cleaner..Just change the fuel filter when its supposed to be changed..Will never have any issues..
