Max BHP out of a 1.1?
If you were to try to improve the performance of a 1.1, without Turboing or Supercharging, how much bhp would you think you'd be talking about?
Basically:
Enclosed Induction
Manifold
Full Exhaust
Remap
Maybe -
Cam(are there any upgraded Cam's for 1.1?)
Serious answers only please
Oh and anything anyone else would consider doing, feel free to recommend.

you may get it up to 75 - 85 bhp with all them and cams mate, tbh not worth the money, could just do a vts conversion for much less and gain more bhp

Without changing the engine aswell? Unfortunately though, money is an object. What would you suggest doing Kam? I don't want it to be a VTR eater or anything, I just want it to be a bit more responsive, with better high end power, because the acceleration isn't bad!
I don't want more suggestions of "Wack a VTR/S engine in it" because I know that's an option, I'm looking at alternatives.
Cheers

wouldn't worry about the top end tbh mate
if it does over 100 then thats all you will ever need.
I would get some decent suspension and brakes - they are also fun
as you said before - exhaust, induction fannymold, cams, remap, even they will be expensive

Lol, cheers John, at least somebody read the post, I KNOW that I can stick a VTR/S engine in, but I'm also looking at alternatives, as I said before, I don't necesarily want VTR power, I just want to make it quicker, and I'm wondering how much this sort of stuff would add.

With cam, headwork, exhaust manifold, exhaust, throttle bodies and management I'm sure you'd get it up to 110bhp, and it'd go really well, unfortunately you'd need to sell a kidney - the bhp per £ is not very good.
I'd seriously recommend full suspension bushes, shocks and springs that are focused on PERFORMANCE not LOOKS, decent chassis stiffening - upper/lower strut braces, maybe rear strut brace, and look at some very good discs (black diamond or the like) and some very good pads, also braided hosing, then sort yourself out some lightweight wheels and something like the Parada-2 tyre, or the R888.
This would make the lightweight 1.1 a REALLY fun backlane scratcher!
Also, with the chassis sorted and your driving skills coming along, when you CAN afford the engine conversion, you have a perfect car to drop it in.
Andy

Stripping it to reduce weight something you would consider?
If I was in your position I'd do what Luthor1 said

check this thread:

He stated that he could nearly keep up with vtrs with his car fully stripped out and with the simple breathing mods he had done. His car wasn't excactly cheap-but it was done on a student budget (sort of)
Think about de-catting-must have for gaining a bit more oomph, then think about your air filter (raceland green enclosed filter should be on your wish list) a decent exhaust overall-getting the right back pressure, a decent 4-2-1 mani, and a good suspension set up. Then ask yourself if you want to strip the car, and if not no worries, just be happy with the fact your car will aprox 70Bhp
All that lot will be aroundd the £600-£700 region brand new

As said here before, cheapest way to get more power is to strip it down to the bare metal inside, i mean take everything out just stick 1 seat in with the steering wheel. Should see quite a difference!
