Is my 9855R Knackered?
I installed the Alpine 9855R headunit in my car about two weeks ago, but sometime now when I go press a button the screen goes off and then comes back on a few minutes later.
It's quite annoying as when screen goes off, I can't see to press any buttons. Is it connection related? Do they need cleaning?
Cheers,
Luke

No not at all. its a setting. You have to press and hold a button i think it maybe the function button. As its a bright face they made it so it can be turned off then you touch the screen and it comes back on then goes off again. I had one and had the same problem. Nothing to panic about.

Yeah, I was messing with that last night as the glare did my head in, but then I held it for a while for it to come back on and it wouldn't come back.
Sometimes it does it even if I just touch the screen, it goes off.

Even if I just gently touch the screen, then it keeps like flashing on and off a couple of times? Doesn't seem right to me, been out to car twice today and has been okay both times - so fingers crossed.

the face may not have been on 100% or the flexy strip is on its way out but this is a cheap fix.
