Default Heavy Rain

Will anyone be buying this at the end of feb...? im looking forward to it! Been in development for quite some time i think... *goes and googles*... since 2006. Thriller / adventure game resident evil style but without the zombies. Not everyones cup of tea i suppose but an interesting role playing game.

Downloaded the demo before it was put on ps3 store. Meh its ok, cars seem on a pivot and hover? over the puddles. Shame as the character detail is awesome!

yeh seems good. Got the demo too and I liked it. Dont think i'll be getting in anytime soon though if at all. Is like a film you can play and control, different but good.

6 years? Not long at all, Im still waiting for Duke Nukem Forever!! About 10 years now! Doubt they will bother making it now!

But as for Heavy Rain, read a stack of reviews, seen video footage, in game shots etc and it looks amazing, not sure about gameplay though. Adverts on TV obviously dont give much away but it does look good. My mate is getting it so i will wait for him to get it and see what its like then.

I think the company making duke nukem went bust Big shame. Me and my old man are massive fans. I have some duke nukem shirts and other goodies I won in a competition

Heavy rain looks pretty good. I might have to get it, downloading the demo though first just to try it out.

*Some Spoilers*

I got this game at the weekend and played for around 5 hours on Sunday

The game is terribly slow at the start. The first hour is just introducing the characters you get to play and how to get to grips with the control system. It nearly put me off and I was almost turning it off, thinking what is the point in these stupid tasks such as play with the kids or walk around the room and do enough things like set the table untill you have done enough to progress the game.

In the early stages you have no idea what you are doing and like the above, you end up having to do all the available things in order to progress.

I gave it a chance and the game is now in full flow. From the reviews I read it says the choices you make effect the ending no matter how small. In the early stages I don't think what you do makes a big difference but later on it does.

I have failed one of Ethan's tasks that he has to do in-order to prove his love for his son. It feels a little bit of a SAW movie rip off and the task failed looked impossible to me.

To sum up. you have to put up with the early stages and this has put me off playing it again as I know what I have to go through in-order to get to the good bits.

The method of pushing buttons at the right time seems a bit like cheeting as it can make the game feel easy. However, it gets frustrating when you miss a button or don't shake the controller correctly.

So there's my take. I'm still playing it and recon im 1/2 through it. Anyone else got this?

This looks good from the adverts, I may check out some reviews for it in non-official PS3 mags.
