steel wheels will take more abuse generally than most after market alloys ,unless you are paying lots of money for split rim types ,which of course you can replace one half of the rim seperate from the hub ,so its cheaper in the long run if you intend to keep bending rims - brake cooling --doubt that will be a problem on a track day

Unfortunatly im using all my wheels

Serious question kinda off topic..

if im thinking of using 283mm brakes with either brembo's or bosch(?) calipers will i have enough clearence with the c5 steelies?

Lea had spacers on his c5s to fit brembos but like bosch gti6 calipers you should be ok i think
