There is no play in the linkage so whatever movement you make with the lever will be replicated at the gearbox end instantly rather than parts giving slack in the mechanism

I think the feel of the kit makes people keener to change too swiftly, that's the only potential for damage. Many of our customers have reported a reduction in gearbox problems after fitting the kit, you actually get a feel for the mechanical process rather than a weird rubbery vagueness. When I get cars in for mapping now with traditional quickshifts, they feel awful; it's not the same thing at all. But the syncrhos have a job to do and you have to respect them and give them the time they need to do it regardless.

If possible is there any change of buying a MA kit but then changing linkages suitable for a BE box? Doubt its possible unless its just the linkages are different lenghts.

Sandy, out of interest do you know if the kit will happily fit an AX?

Something I may look at in the future when the cars up & running again. I did some some initial measurements and can't see any difference between the mounting points for the kit on each shell, just wondered if you'd fitted one to an AX yet

Cheers mate, I've compared both the Saxo and AX standard parts, and although there are some slight differences, essentially the chassis itself is no different.

The interior parts and bits that bolt onto the lower bulk head would be fine. Would just need to check the lower lever under the car in the exhaust tunnel as the AX ARB and exhaust section to avoid the ARB varys to the Saxo one. I could always alter the setup to suit though

I've no idea if it will fit and AX, never tried.

Contact Colin if you need to change the kit from MA to BE.

I fitted one with the engine out, which is certainly easier, but that doesn't really answer your question lol. Im assuming you can but you will need to do the drilling/hole cutting from the dash side of the bulkhead

Yes you can, I fitted god knows how many, done them, engine out, 15mins job. Engine in on axle stands rather not again special as it had dash in. And also done it on set of ramps 2nd easyest way, its possible on stands with engine in just takes longer and quite fiddly. Props Easyer to take tb off to.

So say if it was on a poster ramp so you can get to it from underneath it would be easiest?

How easy are they too fit? Im just worried about knowing where to mount everything i.e. getting it in the wrong place or will all that info be in the instructions?

yer on ramps is easyest if engines in, fitting instuctions here

http://www.kamracing.co.uk/pdf/satchshiftguide.pdf

follow them cant reali go wrong, with tb off theres enough room to drill the 3 at top on bulk head, i just used a punch to cente it then an air drill as smaller. raise car undo wish bones supports then push it up n bolt it up sorted
