Importing a stray dog

I was at the home yesterday to donate some food. Made the mistake of looking around, and saw one I liked. Bigger mistake, I asked about it. Great wee dog, but the guy I spoke to then told me the reason it had been brought in: she'd been found on the beach, with massive burns up one side of her.

All healed now, but it looks like I might have another dog pretty soon!

another update:

Peggii will be in the UK Sat 3rd March
We are off to collect her from Sywell, Northampton around 3pm :-)
This is really starting to feel real now.

Another trip to Pets at Home this evening:

Salmon & Rice as she is royalty!! The other reason being we dont know what she is used to being fed, so to help eliminate poorly tummy - a sensitive food.

With her best friend "Lady Cameo" (because she looks like Lady from Lady & the tramp and she was found on Cameo island). Lady Cameo is also coming to UK with Pegg and will be living in Wales.

What a legend!

Who gives the remotest of shites if the dog is a pedigree or a cross? It's all about the dog, people think that pedigrees are some sort of better dog? It's all bollocks. No dog is better than an other, it's all about how the dog behaves and its personality.

And people who will look to buy dogs based on financial value don't deserve pets.

When I went to see my dog for the first time when she was a pup I had no idea what to expect as the ad online was:

If mysty (my dog) was a stray abroad and I met her and spent ten mins or more with her I wouldn't be able to help myself. She'd be getting flown back over the water!

That jack russell collie cross is a belter.

Mines coming along pretty well, though she's now in heat; home mistakenly thought she was spayed as she had a scar. Bonding quite well with the other dog now though

she could have been spayed. but if even one ovary (they have several, which is why some have big/small litters) is missed, she will still come into season

Well, Pegg has left Zante!!!
She left 5.30 this morning and is now in transit to the UK.

This reminds me of a really funny story as I done this while on holiday fed this dog food and water morning evening and night for about 10 days of my 14 day holiday then on the 11 day got a knock on the door from a local say please don't fed my dog as your making it fat turned out this dog gets let out all day to do what it wants to do and just goes back home when it needs a sleep it was a villa in Spain and the dog had been scrounging off the tourist

Thats pretty much what these dogs are like.
The locals let their dogs out amongst the strays, but the dogs who have owners must wear collars - I think this is so other locals dont shot their neighbours dogs!!

Pegg is now here!!! After a long 4 month wait shes finally here :-)
She is being very good at night, sleeping through and also not toileting in the house

We need to work on basic commands, otherwise she is bring well behaved and fitted in well.
