Default Race dash (multifunction)

Has anybody any experience in how the speed sensors work on these things? All the ones I find are the magnetic type like a pedal bike. I think that's abit of a crude way of doing things. The dash I was looking at was a Koso db02r. Thought I'd post it here as it's for my track car and nobody seems to be able to give a proper answer to my questions everywhere else. Cheers.

I fitted a stack, what speed sensor type does the koso come with?

You mean like slammed106 has done?

I use a dash2 with dl2 datalogger - the dl1 has onboard gps which feeds the dash for speed amongst other things. Best and most accurate solution, but if you can't do that, the only real way is with a hall sensor, as above.

That's the dash and there's a choice of sensors at the bottom and on the accessories page.

It does look abit like that but his looks more fancy. I was told the kit came with a magnet and a sensor. Just seems like it would be very inaccurate with all the driveshaft movement.

as posted above,

im using a racetech dash2 and after a chat with the company doing my loom i was advised to use a hall effect sensor from these guys:

http://www.kasensors.co.uk/KA-SP-wheel-speed-sensor.pdf

i think it was about £50 from memory then fabricated my own trigger wheel + housing that fits onto the intermediate shaft and a ally bracket the mount the sensor...

Matt@ TDF has fitted these dash displays to quite a few track cars now and its a proven reliable method to get an accurate signal for wheel speed..
