You'll need to make mounting points, use some wooden blocks is the best/cheap option
But a splitter on a splitter looks cack!

I screwed it straight into the bumper, lasted all of 5 minutes. Take the old one of and make some proper brackets for it.

The trouble with wooden blocks is they`ll rot after a while. You`re best off bonding some plastic fixings on then bonding the splitter to that mate.

as said, a splitter on a splitter looks stupid
and wooden blocks will rot
best way is to chop off your splitter and replace it altogether

I have a spare VT bumper in my garden i was playing around with, i removed the standard splitter to fit a laguna one..
to remove the standard splitter i used a stanley knife.. it went through it like a hot knife through butter.. left a relatively smooth line too!
no mess

Stanley knife just slid straight through it with easy, I tried sawing it to start with! Made a hell of a mess and took about 20 mins to cut in an inch, my dad suggested Stanley blade and it just pulled through with minimal effort!
