Why are you still wanting to paint this??? Get some dark color decals on,
Push as much of the dent on the door out and just cover it with stickers
This could end up looking good with some ...say dark grey / anthracite graphics on the rear

How tbh the above is right - if it's really a track car paints gonna get fucked soon enough. Get the safety/handling/brakes/weight loss/power sorted before cosmetics.

Im also awaiting the bible aka the 106 haynes manual. So thats a good purchase!
I've set myself a target for the first phase of the car(brakes suspension tyres roll cage etc)to be the summer after next. Then a summer of trackdays and maybe we'll start looking into engines
Thats gives me plenty of time to tidy it and to make it look pretty too and I know you like pretty alex ; )

I bet this car will never see the track.
You should have taken it for a few track days before you ripped it apart, you would have more fun throwing it round than you would painting the wheels a pretty colour.

Honestly it would be dangerous with how low it is and no fun. Also needs brakes and tyres. I can wait for the trackdays as I've always wanted a built from the ground up 106.
