Best rain repellant?
Tried rain x before and thought it was ok. Are there any other brands that are better?

I use angel wax H2GO, bought it because its pretty much half the price of rain-x and I thought the name was good but I always use it now its pretty much the same as rain-x if not a tiny bit better but like I say almost half the price

I use rain-x aswell, seems to last long enough inbetween applications.
Be interested to see if there's something better though.

Dodo juice have stuff but it's £20 for 50ml but supposed to last well over 10 weeks in some reviews. Just don't know if it would be worth it when rain x and the angel stuff suggested before is far cheaper.

I think Rain-X is awesome stuff so I'll have to try some of this angel wax H2GO because I'd never heard of it until now.

despite being a lowly 'XN' trim model, my 106 still came with wipers which I find to be highly efficient.

Gtechniq wins hands down over anything else I've used, if you use their polish (g4) go over the windows like 2/3times and you'll be amazed how much crap comes off. Then top it off with 3 coats of G1 or G3 and it'll last well over a year (got 21 months off my van with fortnightly washes). Plenty of videos on YouTube for demonstration of it in effect

I love rain-x, how well you apply it makes a massive difference to how well it performs. Me and a friend did half a windscreen each as we were in a rush, his side was terrible but mine was spot on. It tends to start working at around 40mph.
Best method for applying-
Start on one window and work your way around the car.
Spray the rainex on the window and use small firm circular motions to get it on there good.
Work your way around the car, then repeat so you've done two coats on all the windows.
Third time around the car use firm circular motions with a wet microfibre cloth.
Your arm should be rather tired once you've finished.
If you're a member of Costco, you can buy prestone screen wash, concentrate, with rain repellent in it too. And try to not use your wipers, that wears off the rainex but the prestone screen wash will keep your rain repellent topped up. That's what I use and I'm happy!

I just use my wipers.. Seems a shame for them to go to all that effort to fit them, for you not to use them really.. Plus flicking a switch is easier than applying stuff to the glass..

Rain-X isn't designed to completely eradicate the use of your wipers
It just helps the water bead instead of smudge so overall your visibility is better, even through the bits of windscreen the wipers don't cover!
