Good news!

The car is now taxed and MOT'd. I do have a slight overheating issue but I'm sure it's down to a faulty fan. That should be sorted tonight.

And a teaser...

Why do 67 and 69 share the same door? Are they flats?

Very minor update. The car was really suffering with overheating when the car was stationary. A bit of research online and it turns out the clutch in the viscous fan was dead. Eurocarparts provided one for £23 (Should have been £186!). 20 minutes later and after cutting my hand open, it was in.

So far the car hasn't even hinted at overheating. As it stands:

Next up is to paint the lower valance and passenger wing. Then onto replacing the rusty drivers side wing.

Afternoon!

Since picking the car up, cleaning it up has been my main priority. It needs a new wing and also needed the crusty and rusty valance sorting. Today was the day to sort the valance!

As it was:

During:

After:

I also decided to test fit the wheels properly. Fronts are spot on but the rears will need ALOT of work to get them on. Smaller tyres and some camber (Some how)

Next up is a new wing and also a new sunroof moulding as mine is a little crusty and old.

Don't suppose they do adjustable rear arms for these?

I've got a set on the E46, makes camber adjustment a doddle. Made by Eibach.

I have no idea. I've asked about the best ways but noone seems to suggest them.

Update time! And absolutely nothing has happened! It's done another couple of thousand miles and nothing has broken which is good!

A photo by a randomer taken on the way back from Bugjam:

And a photo taken by the other half:

Now, some of you guys may remember that I bought another Mk2 Golf over a year ago. With my Mk2 being the "main" car, the new one was very unloved in all honesty. It did under 500 miles in a year and was just left. Tax and Mot ran out, it was basically abandoned.

Now however, the girlfriend has decided she wants it back. It was given its first wash of the year, an MOT that it failed with less than expected and HOPEFULLY, back on the road within a week!

I'll get photos of the Mk2 when I go back to the unit!

Nobody cares about the Mk2, more of the BMW. Glad to see you've not ruined this yet though!

My other mk2 was on Police Interceptors tonight lol The E28 will never be ruined. It'll be kept clean regardless of ride height and wheel selection.

Just seems like an old man car, with no cool factor to me.. If it was an old M3 or something, it would be decent

Depends if they write it off or not. If it's written off and the third party accepts it was his fault I'll get a half decent pay out. I'll get an S14a.

If they say it's knock for knock - I'm third party so I'll buy the car back and strip it for parts and put the mazda on the road.

Won't know for a while anyway.

So, this E28! Progress... or lack of!

Good points! I gave the car a good going over with a clay bar. I was impressed to say the least and the car came up great. My previous overheating issue was fixed with the fan clutch. The gauge never even makes half way any more. Oh, and my faulty starter motor is just about hanging in there, for now!

Bad points!I haven't sorted the starter and I haven't sorted the wings. The car has developed all sorts of little squeaks from a few suspension bushes and even the door rubbers! It's also developed a warped brake disc which is quite annoying to say the least!

Hopefully, the ball will actually start in motion after Christmas! But for now, have a single photo!

Bad times!

While driving home last night, an elderly guy decided he wanted my lane and pushed me off the road into a verge. Visible damage is the door, wing and bumper. That said, the car is certainky not right underneath. It's all over the place whilst driving and it's constant knocking and banging.

Two years ago to the day that my Mk2 was written off, it looks like my E28 might be too!

I actually wish it was my fault dude. I'd be less pissed off as it would have been all my own doing. Unfortunately though, it was some old guy not looking where he was going.
