Talking Front wheel won't turn on neutral when car is jacked up

Hi Guys,

I have a Saxo 1.5D, 2000(MK2), that when both front wheel are lifted and car being on neutral wont spin. I also noticed the wheel center nut is overheating after driving. I understand wheel should spin with a little push.

Front bearing seem to have no play and i have tighten well both wheels. In other hand when I loosen the center nut the wheel spin freely.

Why are front wheel getting stuck and getting hot in the area of the center nut?

I would get the bearings replaced and tighten the centre nut to the correct torque setting.
Once a bearing has overheated and the grease has dried up not much you can do with them.

Yep sounds like there was some play in the bearing so the previous owner has tightened the driveshaft nut up a bit more to cover it up

Get a new pair of bearings fitted and the nut torqued correctly and it will be fine

I discovered problem was the mechanic placed wrong brake pads causing one on the brake cylinder side to lock making pressure on the disk on one small portion of the pad surface.
