Gearbox advice for fast road boosted car
The car is TU5J4 with 260whp and 300nm. My original MA gearbox was fine for a year and now is death. I know that the MA box are not a strongest boxes. In my country the mechanics thinks the BE box are not stronger then MA so they recommend me to put a Quaife ATB Differential and will be fine.

The MA box fails because the gearbox case itself flexes, allowing (normally) 3rd gear input/output shafts to pull apart stripping the teeth. A diff wont fix that.
The BE case is stronger and this is less prone.
the main advantage of the BE box is everything else too - larger driveshafts, stronger CV's, more choice in gear ratio sets and the diff can be changed in about 45 minutes (without removing the gearbox from the car). There are many benefits.
With big powered TU based cars a BE box is a must really - but with the high powered cars (more than yours) they still break occasionally. I went through 3.

I see i will put a MA box again to use the car in winter and after that i will think for BE, but the problem here is nobody knows how to put BE and what is need for conversion.

thats where the internet comes in.
You tell the guys in yiur country what you need.
I.e, be gearbox from tu engined car, Picasso or berlingo etc.
mounting kit ( satchell engineering do a very good one )
modded be shafts (206 may fit without modding possibly) be drive flange modified to fit late saxo/106 bearing.

If you're willing to do some work yourself then search for martins (Tweedq) thread here on the forum.
He did ALL the original legwork before anyone else started marketing a "kit" for conversion. He's even put a thread up on the parts (with part numbers) you need. You'd save a fortune over the kit price from at speed.

gearbox sits level on the satchell kit, also shifted engine towards lhs for better weight distribution, cv joint clearance and shaft length. only 20mm iirc.

It does yes. But it's also significantly (factors of 10) more expensive than doing it yourself following Martins guide. Pros and cons of course!

indeed! depends how much of a fabricator you are I gues, though theres still a small bit if welding required on the satch kit.

I've only seen Colins kit on Josh's saxo and it does look awesome to be honest - I probably would have gone with it myself if I was still playing with french cars now (or if the kit was around 3-4 years ago!).

Yes the at speed kit is ok. It's very expensive for what it is but it's easy to fit.
There are cheaper alternatives if you are handy at making your own bits.
Mothers are much better alternatives if you can spend a little more.
That's all
Yes you'll need hubs and a box (1.6 8v Picasso) and some shafts
