You can wrap some tape thinly around the a butter knife and stick it under the knob. Rock gently up and down and the knob will come off. The tape is so you won't scratch the pedal. Also, like others stated above check for set screws first.

No one? I might just take a hacksaw to that white plastic bit. It doesn't need to all come off, just the pointed top that it has is what needs to come away. I'll see how my new gearknob holds for now but if it comes loose again, that part is coming off.

Managed it today. You need to hacksaw off the point of the white plastic part that is there when you remove the stock gear knob. That way it makes it alot easier to fit a new one. If you don't remove that pointed part, it makes it near impossible to fit another gear knob properly.

i had one go this morning to pull the knob off my furio as its still shiny & polished
to put on my gti but i swear down i almost pulled a muscle in my arm trying to get it off
