6x9s without amp
hi guys, got a question, iv got a mk2 vtr and iv got an old parcel shelf out of my old 106 which has decent pioneer speakers mounted in, i don't like the look massively but as the rear is blacked out in my saxo you wouldn't see the speakers anyway so i was thinking of throwing them in as i wouldn't have to butcher the parcel shelf because i already have one, can you run 6x9s without an amp already having front and rear standard speakers in and how will it sound ? is it worth doing without an amp ?

they'll be fine running off your hu. just disconnect/re-wire them from the rear speaker output.
if you want to run them with your front and rear standard speakers then yes you would need an amp

Yep, will sound fine if you disconnect the rears and plug in the 6x9's. The rears are pretty crap best to do without them

That was my first idea then thought logically it wouldn't improve sound much, I'm thinking of not using 6x9s an just updating fronts, iv got some fli fronts in my other car I could take out but they weren't that expensive will they even be much better than standard!?

Sell your 6x9s and buy an amp and some sound deadening for your front speakers that WILL sound much nicer!

I have 6x9s just connected to head unit, and a sub with an included amp (does not link to 6x9s) both just basic and cheap, however very effective and loud enough to be heard by people in there houses when you go past haha
