Default New Speakers?

Im looking for some new speakers for the front of my 1.1, I dont really want to be spending more than £30 or so, just an upgrade from the basic ones.
Could anyone recommend me some for that kind of price?
And how do I go about fitting them? Is it just a case of transferring the wires from the basic ones to the new ones?
Thanks in advance

These will be the best you can get for under £30 I reckon

In regards to fitting, remove the door card and you'll see the standard speakers are riveted in. I bash the tops off them but you could drill them out. Once the speaker is out the wires will be connected to it with a connector block. You can snip that off then connect the wires yourself or buy a set of these which make life alot easier

So once they're connected you just need to rivet or screw them back in, refit the door card and thats it!

If you have any problems there is tons of info on here if you have a search

Sorry to bring this up again Muel but would I need some wire strippers to reconnect the wires? I also bought some of those adapters too. Ive just taken delivery of my speakers and dont want to take the old ones out before I know these new ones can go in

Nope you shouldn't do, that's what the connectors are for - they clip straight into the original connectors then clip onto the speakers so you don't have to faff about cutting off the block then wiring the wires to the speakers yourself!

Oh and you can strip speaker wire with scissors or pliers if you're careful, If needs be

Hello, I have just bought a saxo furio for my first car and I have just bought a while I.C.E system and wondered what your thoughts on it would be:
Pioneer head unit (can't remember which one, but was £140 reduced from £340)
Fli fi5 tri-axial speakers in front and rear doors (180 watts peak - each)
Theloudest.com 6x9's (1000 watts peak - each)which come with theloudest 1500 watt 4 channel amp and 2000 watt wiring kit
Vibe black air twin evo cbr subs (1600 watts peak - each)
My plan is to run the two 6x9's and the two rear door speakers off the 1500w amp and the two front door speakers off the head unit, with the subs powering themselves.
Is this good?
Thanks

Do you want an honest answer?

Peak figures are nonsense.

Headunit sounds good enough.

Fli - Cheap and will make a racket. No point upgrading the rears, just disconnect them they will just distort.

Whats the objective here, just to make as much noise as possible coming from behind you? The Loudest.com stuff i wouldnt use but thats a bit late for you now. Given they quote in peak shows its tat. So they claim their 6x9's are 1000w (peak) each. So to reach their quoted figures your going to need to be running 1000w per channel (peak). Your amp is quoted as 1500 watt (no mention of peak or per channel rating).

Why would you want to run everything behind you off the amp and leave the speakers that in front of you and will be heard most clearly by your ears running off the underpowered head unit?

Ditch the rear speakers and 6x9s. Buy better fronts and amp them up.

You dont mention an amp for your subs?

Subs could have a built in amp? I know some of the vibe stuff does.

I agree with everything Scott said. Fli is pants and the loudest.com is pure tat.

All you need is a single sub, and amp and some comps up front. Even if you bought everything JBL would sound awesome compared to the stuff listed above. And wouldn't cost you loads.

I'd give it a re-think.

Yeah the vibe has a built in amp. Okay, I shall definitely have a re think as to what to do, I can always send the stuff back if needs be anyway.

So what I have thought about doing, when the 6x9s arrive in the post, I'll sell them but keep the amp and wiring kit. I will wire the front and back door speakers to the 4 channel amp and let the subs run off the built in amp. I will also update the door speakers. Any good door speakers out there? Makes, models etc?

What's your budget?

In my opinion JBL are the best budget brand but there's plenty others if you have more to spend.

What are good mid range speakers, and could you suggest any good mid range Amps that would power 4 door speakers?
