Right, well if you want to have 2 subs, then you need to buy 2 subs that are dual 2 ohm. These can be wired at either 1 or 4 ohms, and if you have 2 of them you can wire them both in parallel to show your amp a load of 2 ohms, which is correct and will make them most out of your amp.
Yes, the jbl gto 1202d is dual 2 ohm...

now how would i go about wiring them up lol sorry im not to good with wiring, guessing when i make the install? would i need to make a cable from the sub to the install boxs and then from the edge of the install to the amp?
wire diagram would be top nuts! lol a sub per channel? or 1 channel and both subs no idea

Well as a general rule ported boxes are louder and capable of producing very long, low bass lines, for music such as rap and possibly rock, but they do still have the ability to kick hard!
Whereas selaed gives a tighter, punchier bass for music such as dance.
I have owned both and now i can safely say that i prefer ported. And i also believe that porting the box gets the most out of the sub in terms of loudness and i prefer the sound of a ported enclosure.

so how do i "port" a sub then lol
if i make holes like this
will that act as the same effect then im guessing it would not be "sealed"

Ohhh no! You cant just drill a hole in the side of a box and hope for the best! Lol
When making a sub box you need to refer to the manufacturers guidelines with regards to enclosure size, often measured in litres. When you get your JBL's they will have the guidelines in the manual and if you work off that you will get a good sound.
The pic of the box you have posted up will sound awfull with any sub in it, due to the fact that the box is way too small! After all, the quality of sub does not matter as much as the quality of box! Believe it or not, the box is where the noise comes from, effectively.
Ported enclosures are also genrally bigger than sealed ones.
When you get your sub, put up the volumes on here, and from that we can work out some dimensions for the size of the box you intend on building.

As a general rule of thumb, the bigger the box the louder the sound.
This is not the best way to design a box, but it is correct to a certain extent

Keep us updated mate! It could be interesting to see someone actually build a good, calculated box to fit the boot.
Most people just throw some bits of MDF together and hope for the best, such as that box you posted a pic of.
Its hard to stress just how much difference a proper enclosure makes!

As long as you have got a good battery it wil be fine.
And you only need to run one power cable from the battery, but it needs to be a good thickness! I.e. at least 4awg. Then you run that cable into a distribution block, which enables you to pull another 4 cables off the main power cable, but obviously you only need one.

right if i get the items from ebay just the 2 subs and the amp comes to total of £182.78
found this http://www.caraudiobargains.co.uk/pr...oducts_id=1327
for £189.99 inc the box and wiring kit, so if the boot build all goes wrong i can use the box i guess as a back up or could even cut the box in half and use that as a start for the mdf install!
