Bit of advice mate...
If your gonna be running that amp at full whack then you need 4 gauge as a bare minimum! Otherwise the amp wil be starved of power as will the electrics on the car! The lights will start dimming, the tickover will be all over the place when the power is up and its just generally not good! lol
I have 4 gauge wiring, 1300rms, escort TD (massive battery and alternator) and my lights go very dim wen on full blast!
I'd recommend you get 2 gauge!

got the pioneer in the end.
Is it true that you shouldnt use the sub very loud for like 10 hours to brake it in?

not sure how long.. but think of it as like new trainers.. its hard to walk in them when theyre brand new
keep it at a low level.. get rid of the stiffness of the cone so it can handle the bass without damage

o haha, i bought the pioneer 1000 rms sub, and it has dual voice coils, 4 connections.
2 positive, 2 negative.
Now i am gunna follow the second diagram on this website to give 2 ohms resistance "http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161".
Now when i am wireing it, i assume i use the speaker wire i got in the wirering kit i bought "http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290152030297&ssPa geName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=019".
How ever obviously the speaker cable is 2 wires connected with plastic casings, do i split this into single wires so that i can wire the sub to the box?
i hope i am making sense???

i kinda get what you mean
yes you would use 1 bit of speaker wire (split it as you suggested)
and then the wires from the box to the terminals
you shouldnt need any more then this
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftec...1&woofer_imp=4
have a look at that
basically.. wire from speaker box goes to 1st red terminal.. and the other bit to second black terminal.. then connect the other two using a bit of speaker wire

If you have enough cable, you will be best to kind of ouble it up, if you get me!
So rather than splittig the 2 parts, leave the cable as it is, and twist both the ends together, to create double the thickness!

also will doubling the cable up do alot of good?
When i was wireing it up to connect the sub to the box there was connections like this |o|
with a hole in the middle, i tryed using this but found it a bit dodgy, in the end i used the nut to hold it down, is this okay?

Surely the box had screw in binding posts?? So you just poke the cable through the hole, then tighten it up!
