Default Fli active sub, advice before i buy.

Hi all, After my mate just brought a twin fusion sub in halfrauds I have decided i need some bass in my car. I'm not after the full Hi-Fi quality sound hence why I'm after a cheap start sub such as this Fli sub:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fli-12-Ampli...ref=pd_cp_ce_1

what do you all think of this, what are the like? reliable? is the sound OK for what it is etc. I would also consider the smaller one (800W) as it is cheaper.

Any advice is appreciated as i think i will buy the one on the link if the response is positive.

Thanks Henry

not a big fan of fli gear, you should be able ot get a JBL sub and amp setup for around 100 quid, probably less if you look around fleabay

and that will sound much better than that fli, i mean no doubt youre looking for a sub to start for off but if you can get a better one for the same price you may as well.

That sub is wank mate, i know people who have had it and in comparison to my infinity 1400w which was 350rms, there was just no contest in it at all.

You can buy an infinity 122.7 sub, which has 400w RMS! for 50 quid on caraudiosecurity.com, and a sealed box for 15 posted on ebay. That comes to 65 and leaves you with a further 35 to spend on an amp, id recommend getting an alpine vpower or something off ebay for about 30. All of that in conjuction will be much much better than that Fli for around the same price. You just need to shop around

If your going to buy it DO NOT buy it from amazon.

Your cheapest place is here

http://www.audiorepaircentre.com/sho...od&productId=7

I bought mine from there, recieved it the next day. Cannot fault the product or service.

I would say the Sub is WELL worth the £40. Wouldnt be too sure about £100 though.

It does provide a decent amount of base, and is good for a budget woofer.

JBL subs are better yes IMO, but for the price the FLI one for £40 you carnt go wrong.

Sound proofing is 100% required though. Dont even think it will be okay without it. It sounds terrible without sound proofing. You can get away with just doing the boot floor and hatch if your on a budget.

It comes with the Amp built in mate. No wires are included but you can buy a wiring kit from them for £12 I think.

I got this kit off ebay instead for £8 delivered

cheers buddy! i Notice this on there http://www.audiorepaircentre.com/sho...d&productId=16 .... would think be much better that the fli or is that just the stereotypical view because it costs more? I'm not sure if the one on the line has an Amp included or not either.

Yes mate that one comes with an amp.

If its an "Active Sub" then it comes with an amp built in.

The Vibe system Is 400RMS in comparison to The FLI's 300RMS, so yes it will be more powerfull.

However for the price of the vibe box (£70), I think you could probably get a better system elsewere.

TBH I only know the basics, you would be better asking AshleyP mate.

Hope this helps

Id spend 100 quid on the setup I recommended you tbh, i know two people with fli active subs and they were both hugely hugely dissapointing.

Theres the sub (without the case) for sale in the halfords in Ilkeston for £25
