What comps you got in it?

Headunit would still be changed unless your one has Bluetooth and is iPhone compatable?

I think we might have the same headunit actually looking at your thread, if not they look very similar lol

Just like the idea of having a handsfree and wireless music streaming

Comps sound like their to quite highly spec'ed

Another Friday Night Update

As i mentioned last night i picked up some parts from Docsamty, a right bargain at 15 quid for the lot!

I then carried on finishing off the iPod holder

At the start of the night:

Stripped:

All that work just to get at the ashtray holder out:

Slot added to allow cable through:

Ended up having to widen the slot as i needed the whole iPod connector to pass through it rather than just the cable, but i'd put everything back together before i realised i need to do this so i ended up having to strip everything out again, widen the slot, then refit everything

All back together and working

Not overly happy with the finished result tbh as the iPod sits at a funny angle so the ashtray doesn't close fully, but at least i gave it a shot, and its only temporary, as i'll be going wireless come March next year - iPhone and Bluetooth headunit

Will hopefully get the Pioneer's fitted next friday, so remeber to check back soon

It works, just the iPod is just a little too big to fit in the ashtray properly, smaller iPod would solve that problem though

Next is fit the 10cm Pionner co-axials i picked up the other day, as i have no rear speakers at all at the moment

Then it will be just about finished for this car, starting to plan the next build now!

But looks like i'll be needing a new drivers front wheel bearing and theres something amiss with the passenger front suspension too

Yeh hopefully, it might end up waiting to next friday though, as i really need to jack it up and whip the wheels off to see what the damage is on the front axle/suspension

Update - All Finished?!

Tonight i think i've completed the final part of my ICE jigsaw puzzle

You may remeber the co-axials i picked up cheap the other week? Well here they are:

Removed the rear seats to get the doorcards off easier:

Found some rear speakers i never knew about :s, only stock citroen ones though, and they were not connected as the block connector had been cut off to extend the wires when the previous owner fitted 6x9's:

They were soon removed and replaced though :

Same was done on the other side and everything was put together (the new parcel shel makes a good work bench ):

With the co-axials fitted there is a fair increase in volume and a more even sound through the car

That just about concludes my ICE build , but if anything changes or anything gets added then i will update the thread.

If not i'll be back with a complete progress on a VTS in the spring, minus the ICE though so there might be a few bits up for sale

Cheers for all the comments you've given guys

James

You tried disconnecting it completely then re-fitting it just in case its confused? My screen kept freezing for a while, so i took it out so it would clear the memory and reset and its worked fine ever since

It will be ciruit boards inside so if its something internal then it would be cheaper and easier just to get a new HU, cheap and cheerful one if your selling the car soon

It has taken a long time, but only because i didn't and still don't have much spare time (did loads of overtime during the summer holidays and working seven days a week now ) so it was long and drawn out, i could easily do it all in 2 days now i've done it once (and if i had the time).

Its all complete now though which is good. But i'm thinking of selling it now (well the flase floor and the parcel shelf) and just having components upfront and co-axials in the back
