^^ that's the setup i'm after,
sorry to hijack
but i reckon 300 watts rms is more than enough for a saxo as i'm not after making my head explode, the amp can power two comps at 100 watts rms too,
i have heard good stuff about jbl but never experienced them,
anyone rate that setup??

just realised that 100 for the comps and 300 for the sub is actually peak and not rms,
POOF goes that idea hahh

the gto4000 is still a good amp, and some set ups with it providing around 150wrms for the sub are more than good on a budget

i highly reccomend

never said that it would be cheap, was just saying that if you want a 1kwrms sub then i would recommend the alpine type x

I was thinking about getting vibe space subs for a while but if you want big bass out of them they work best in a big sealed enclosure. for one sub you'll need around 2.5ft3 which is a big box for a saxo. Plus good amp to run the thing will be more than double the price of the sub itself. But if its in the right box i've seen guys pushing over 1400wrms through it and it handled the power really well. Personally I've gone with JL audio subs instead, can't go wrong.
