I think the acryllic for my amp window is either 3 or 5mm and it's fine.. it flexes slightly if you put something heavy on just the window.. but normally i don't put anything on the acryllic.. if in doubt double up the acryllic or make the window smaller..

maybe a stupid question, does it sound balanced right with the sub being to one side? it would pure kill the boot space if it was in the middle tho

its a sub.

They are omi-directional.

But some would say you can put them anywhere

Others would say they need to be moved around until you are happy.

my bootbuild:

The room to the left is where the computer will go:

Made sure enough room for the amp and box when in operation:

Measured 14 times and cut once:

Wanted the build to be just as plush as the seats:

Stretched some faux leather over the padding and mdf:

Checked the sub for size and fitment:

Fixed the sub box to the underside and sealed in place:

As it sits in the car.

Well my sub is 7/8kgs

depending on the quality mdf you use (thickeness) then the more weight.

My install is probably around 15-20kgs

Saying that, doesnt really make much difference to me.

the more i slap in there, the less i have to do to the torsion bar next week.

Cheers rem. I've already got an amp and a sub in the back so adding a little bit if wood and carpet isn't going to make a whole lot of difference. I hope...

I used 18mm for the top mdf as i wanted something that wouldnt flex when it was in operation.

The base was just some 10mm mdf as it fits snuggly, it doesnt move around at all.

the screws that hold the passenger seats in are preventing me from having the sub flush, did you just put some planks under the sub to raise it a little bit? oh and how did you mount the amp?

cheers

riase the sub up a couple of inches by using a cut piece of wood a couple of layers high.

you could make a flase flush look by extending the box to the side using more mdf.
