Also, you extend the lambda wiring to get the LC-1 box next to the Ecu? It looks mint there, I've got mine zip-tied to my strut brace for now as couldn't think of anywhere to put it - wouldn't mind getting it somewhere a tad bit safer in the future

ye i thought about where i wanted it b4 id even bought it, just thought it would look smart next to the predator. and it does i think. all i need to do now is find the extra cables that came with it, (the jack blocker) so i can switch the output for guage to wideband.

God knows where mine is either Was it easy to extend the cables? Just wire in an extra length or cable for each lambda wire?
hows the engine coming along?

next stage.
right the next stage was to take engine out and find out the problem. i,every high oil pressure, so to find out wat caused it.
well a quick description. piston 1 oil controll ring in bits, piston 2 and 3 a a chunk from in between ring 1 and 2 nicely not attached. and all pistons showed signs of valves touching.
not good but oh well we move on.
so that was it, i decided this time, i would spare no expense, and i would boost the old girl.
next decission, turbo or charger.
originally i had decided turbo, due to the cituining kit being cheepish, but i have moved on from that and now, the build is going to be just as expensive maybe a little more than a s/c conversion, but as my spec would be similar to another certain s/c conversion about to take shape i have decided to stick to turbo, my proposed spec.
PREDATOR ECU
LC1 WIDEBAND
CATCAMS 708s
WOSSNER 79MM FORGED PISTONS
PEC FORGED RODS
ARP ROD BOLTS
STD SIZE MAIN BEARINGS
ACL BIG END BEARINGS
SUMP BAFFLE PLATE
1.7MM TRIPPLE LAYER STEEL GASKET
NEW HEADBOLTS
NEW WATERPUMP
PIPER CAMBELT KIT
DP ENGINEERING MANIFOLD WITH 38MM WASTEGATE FITTING
TURBOSMART WASTEGATE
GT28RS TURBO
DP ENGINEERING DOWNPIPE
660 CC INJECTORS
INTERCOOLER
BOOSTPIPES WITH KNURLED LIPS
SILICONE HOSES AS NEEDED
TURBOSMART BOV
BRAIDED OIL FEED AND RETURN
WATER FEED AND RETURN
15 ROW OIL COOLER
OIL FILTER RELOCATION KIT
2 10" SPAL FANS
82 DEG THERMOSTATE.
i think that is everything, if i have missed anything needed please put it up thanks.

God those exhaust valve indents in the pistons look horrible!!
I think building this engine up will be a great move and would be wicked when on the road!! As they say, every cloud has a silver lining !

and on to the important stuff.
after spending a bit of time deciding my spec and talking to a few people
i decided forged internals was the way to go,
at least pistons on standard rods with arp bolts.
so pistons were sorced,(cheers ross)

and the block and crank sent to machine shop to be checked over and block rebored from 78.5mm to 79mm
crank was checked and polished, and was fine, std size bearings ok to be used. block bored no problems.
so now i can think about rebuilding, only now looking into things, forged rods maybe a good idea, so. a tasty set of pec rods with arp bolts were purchased
and subsequently mated to pistons, the c clips were fun trust me.

after this they were test fitted into block, to make sure bores were correct, with rings attached,

all is ok, and they move freely. so good job there.
crank test fitted with old bearings to check rod clearance, and all was fine, but for peice of mind i decided to notch the block, for a little more clearance, it may not be the tidyest of jobs, but i did it myself with a dremel and diamond cutter. not a machine lol.

the before and after.
and that is pretty much where i am now, as awaiting the acl bearings and sump baffle, plus torque settings, then will all be torqued up and work on the head can commence,

the rods have a lot of clearance on the block?
You think I should notch my black to make sure there's enough clearance?
lol@the c clips!

They looked close to me, so i decided to notch it, theydidnt touch the block, but under rpms who knows, so decided an hour out of my life could save my engine. going to tidy them up a bit tomorrow.
