You have the glued on sound deadening under it which I would imagine prevents the floor rotting, all looks fine under there to be honest.

Great start, the original sound deadening is terrible, you only have to show it some moisture and it turns onto a pond.

looks very nice, I love the colour. Keep up the good work. It reminds me of my first VTR with the keypad immobiliser. I take it the VTR wheels are standard on a MK1 VTS?

Awesome to see a now rare car being saved and given the attention to detail it warrants!

Spent an hour or so on it this evening.
Started the chore of trying to to clean up the carpet, vanish and jet wash to the rescue! I've given it a good scrub and a heavy jet wash, i'm going to leave it to dry out in the sun tomorrow and see how it looks in the evening, I should imagine its going to need another scrub and wash down though.
Also removed the rear door cards and have nearly finished stripping the interior out ready to be sanded down and painted.
New heater matrix also arrived today, so plan for tomorrow is to clean up the heater box and get that back in before I start sanding and painting.

Carpet dried out today, and its coming along well. Going to give it a wet vac tomorrow evening to try and get rid of the last of it, but i'm happy enough, I've got some tailored matts to go in anyhow.
Other than that i've got some sandpaper and a few cans of colour matched paint now, so I'll start sanding down tomorrow evening.
Also got a few parts through the post today:
Airbox
As you can see, I had to drill out the standard screw holes as they were all turning, Ive done a nice bolt and nut fix, just need to clean the airbox up now.
Airbox bracket, again, needs some love.
Top rad hose with oil cooler feed (mine was had been converted to run without the oil cooler) ... gold dust!!
And the new heater matrix.
More updates tomorrow hopefully.

did the heat exchange have a problem or a leak? weird that someone would bypass it but leave it still physically still there. Or maybe the pipe popped!

Old oil cooler had cracked, I guess they ran a single pipe as a pose to replacing it.
Only had an hour this evening but managed to make some headway with sanding down the boot floor and rear seat point.
Primer tomorrow hopefully.

With the weather being so nice and the temperature being spot on for painting, I cracked on with the interior paint this evening.
Finished off the last bit of prep work and got a few coats of primer down.
After another light sand of the primer, I got the top coat down. Very very happy with the results out of the rattle can and poor painting conditions. I've never been much of a painter to be honest, I prefer the oily jobs, but anyhow...
The colour match is really good, and as above, I am really happy considering painting never usually goes well for me.
Unfortunately I am on a time scale and I need to get the interior back together by the end of the weekend, so i've decided i'm going to re-vist the rest of the interior for paint another time.
After I finished the paint, I had enough time to whip the leaky rocker covers off and asses the mess that was beneath them..
Didn't really get much time but I made a start on cleaning up the bottom cover, but the new JP4 gaskets arrived today and hopefully I'll get the faces all cleaned down ready for sealing up at the weekend. For now, they are covered up..

Good work so far. If you have the time, drop the engine to do the water pump/cambelt etc, and use that same time to address any engine bay rust then repaint. The jobs worth doing as theyre the main problem area for Saxos.
