no point.

Dont need one, will just be full of idiots trying to fuel their E egos and cause problems on track at events.

You need a track day section as much as you need an 18" wheels section
'sort the men from the boys ' says it all really

If someone else made this thread i would say its quite a good idea.

Could have some little guides on track rules, could have some racing tips etc.

But the problem is most the trackday boys on here use a different forum for that kind of talk. Eh.

Yep, well i know I do, i wish saxp could have that kind of topics, but with some of the boys on here acting as men (or so they think) it will just end up being full of shiz

As we see here people are all worried about bragging rights.

IMO members here dont have the maturity to have a track section which doesnt decent into arguments or for example at shows, dangerous driving because of 'banter' on the forum...

'I couldnt let him passed because he said he was faster in the track section and i wanted to prove him wrong'

WOuld be a useful section for people interested in preparation of cars for track use, etc, etc... but not if it turned into pub-talk banter.

Discuss a little more - lets here what peoples thoughts are.

General questions about setting the car up for track, eg suspension or engines tend to be asked in those sections.

Regional days seem to be in each regional section.

Seems to work well imo like that, like I say id give it a day at max on here as a 'section' before the crap started.

plus then you also have members saying the site is more divided having specific sections for track cars, so what about one for euro cars, etc..

ryan we were having a chat the other day about my brake setup after me finishing my trackday at oulton park, and i think this idea would be good for that. for example, i need a roll cage and i dont have a clue what to get, what actually works if you do roll, or what is worth the money. where can i raise this and get a good response? if there was a track section you would read it - post a picture of yours - give me the code - and i would ring demon tweeks. simple as. If there is a section for 'ICE' lol im sure a trackday section would be phenominal

oh and if peeps do start to egg each others on for racing on track (i wont) then let them, but the people who really track cars no they are full of shit because ya cant race anyway, and if ya do ya just look like a twat, on the forum and on the track.

from that point of view it would be good.

Its just a section that would need alot of moderating, as I dont think some of the petty squabbles that happen on here should be taken onto a race track in such a highly dangerous situation.

Would be a good idea as long as it had a proper moderator to stop all the "shite" that will probably get posted.

By proper moderator i mean dedicated to that section, as to start with i can see a lot of shite being posted.
People who we know dont go on track and post shite in their just to cause arguements should be banned from that section

Would do the site good to try get some real enthusiasts envolved.

And make sure that questions about suspension etc are moved to the relevant sections.

I dont see harm in general track chit chat in that section either as long as it doesnt turn into "race wars"

I see a point where ryan is coming from that people usually post in the regional sections, but i wont be doing my localish track all the time as al get bored.

Be good to speak to more enthusiast members of the site, for me anyway as the banter is always good tbh.

i can see what tourdecorse is on about but for most technical questions there are technical sections
his example of a rollcage quesion is asked quite a bit
and there are usually quite constructive answers in them

as long as you make clear what use the car gets (ie track use) you wont get the replys of dont cage a road car ect

it would be good section for letting people know of days at other tracks to where they normally go so they can get out to other tracks

but i do think a few egos would cause issues ans as said maye end up being dangerous

I agree with Steve there, BUT it would have to be moderated properly, I am sure both myself and Steve would be prepared to do the job?

'Race wars' is one thing that does bother me on here, mine is better then yours, ill be faster etc.........

On the flip side of things, there wasnt a bad post in the thred i made about trackdays and dates

its before shows where I feel it could be problematic.

I personally dont like threads on forums before events talking about how 'I will be faster etc...'

The egos get in the way of sensible driving.

A FAQ guide would be easy and I can write easliy about track etiqute aswell as preparation for the car before hand.

Before shows and track time there I think it would need to be moderated very strictly to stop the cocks all trying to get one up manship out on the circuit..

I for one if I went on track with a few people and if they held me up to brag that I couldnt get past (seeing as on a track day you shouldnt be passing unless the person pulls off the racing line) I would have some stern words with them.
