Win win on the tiger seal then lol..

Dont know what they weigh but generally bottom mounted seats are heavy, its just the way they look imo. Think they look hideous sorry.

These are the seats id buy on a budget, (theyve come up in price of the last few years)

Are the side bolsters on those quite high? That is the reason I ditched the corbeau GT8s - backbreaking to get in and out of having to clamber over a high sided seat. I dont think these seats are too bad to be honest, seem to be a popular choice for small hatches so people must like them for a reason

Managed to nab another enclosed induction kit from ebay for a couple of quid, so I re-oiled the filter using some K&N stuff and put it on with a spare elbow.

Did the tappets today on this but I think most of the noise might be down to a cracked manifold on exhaust port #1 as I can feel a slight blow next to it

Going to fetch a new manifold on the weekend I think, just need to verify the size of the crack on the old one then I'll either fix it and put it up for sale or just ebay it.
Treated myself to this as well as I've never been happy with the gearshift throw:

Been to buy this stainless 4-2-1 manifold tonight, was rotten weather this evening so I couldnt be bothered fitting it to the car so I'll do that tomorrow. Gave it a clean and took the heat wrap off. I'll run the old one up to a mate tomorrow have it welded and sell if anyones interested?

Had the old manifold welded up on the crack today, was only small. When I returned from my mates unit I fitted the new manifold and the quickshift:

Manifold on and done up

Removing the gear stick shaft and cutting off the nylon ball

Everything fitted back together

Car is in the garage now, ready to have its rear floor waxoyl'd as my driveway is being done so I dare not get any on the new stones.
HDR mode on the iphone makes the paint look a bit better I found tonight haha:

Was gonna do this today but my mate came over in his ST and we fitted 302mm EBC discs and 2500s, along with st170 carriers

Going to be putting another new wishbone on the nearside of this tonight as paranoia and the fact I've still got a rather crusty one on the car is annoying me. Also i've got the central locking working again which is good as the motors were just in there doing nothing.

As promised:

New wishbone fitted

Back on its wheels besides a rather tired and worn wishbone. All done in 25 mins

Got some more shots today of it with its big brother, that was until I had to run around the corner as a little girl on the nearby play-park ran in the road and got run down by some penis in an Fn2 civic which put a downer on things

Bit of flake:

Also the 182 lost its tints as I decided I'm old now:

Today I waxoyl'd the underside of the car, after a thorough wire brushing and cleanup. Also cleaned up some of the rust in the boot and painted it:

I also hacked off that rear wheel well screw/hanger thing in the last picture too so thats gone. Also just read in the paper tonight that the little girl in the accident was killed, and it was her birthday so I hope she rests in peace.

Did some little jobs today on the Saxo:

Did the badges red, as the green didnt look right with the seats

Got some Hammerite on the brake calipers

I then had to rewire and remount the horn, as someone in the past had cut the wires and it was shorting out. Also its bracket was snapped. Made up a little bracket and mounted it low down

Been a nice day again so I changed the PAS fluid and had a look at the coolant. Had gone a bit rusty oddly, so put in some blue mobil concentrate stuff. I also swapped the air filter round:

Cheers mate, manifold gets a lot hotter under there now without the heat wrap as my arm found out earlier when doing the PAS fluid

Had another look at the coolant today after topping up last night and the sample I took out was very rusty looking. I wasnt happy so popped to the local motor factors and got some new, red OAT. Upon flushing it the whole system was really rusty so that was annoying as the blue coolant that was in it before hadn't been in there very long. Everything got a good scrub, including the thermostat and then I bled it up. Also after reading a thread on 106rallyeregister where Sandy Brown had stated that hard use with 75w90 in an MA box, the synchros will give out early, even though its better at high temperature shear and so on. I boshed in some 75w80 comma stuff

Back outside and not a moment too soon, looks like its gonna chuck it down. Also I must stop accidentally touching the manifold after its been running and burning myself!

Had the most annoying water leak into the boot over the last few weeks, water would just appear on the boot floor and I was having trouble tracing it even with a hose. However I did it in the end - whoever put the a new rear screen in after it was smashed (glass found in the rear) didnt do a very good job. Seal looked alright but I've run yet more tigerseal inside round the seal itself and over the tailgate seal inside. Also Ive drilled some holes in the lower part/inner skin of the tailgate to let any water run out over the bumper and away, its a bit heath robinson but it works and should stop the floor rotting out. No pics though as its too dark to see the work now
