on most sites you can subscribe to live feeds that you save in your web browser like in tabs across the top of the page. then all you do is hover your cursor over that tab and it shows all the latest news, posts and blogs. you don't have to be on that web page to see the threads. you should have seen a little orange symbol in the right hand side of the address bar on some web pages. like here http://home.skysports.com/scores/

The forums already have RSS feeds built in, im not sure what you would have to use em though, or if they have acctually been enabled.
I only just found out how to link threads internally yesterday
Theres info on it in the FAQ

Oops, yeah I thought the live feeds (RSS) were enabled already!
I've enabled them now, so lets see how it goes.
More live feeds (Atom/RSS) are coming with v4

yes you are being thick. just kidding. if you click on the little orange square in the right hand side of your address bar it will ask if you want to subscribe just click on it and save it to your bookmarks or favorites. or if using firefox you can put it in the tool bar. then when you put your cursor over the link it will display all the latest threads. rep power is much appreciated.
