Bit of a shakedown yesterday before Knockhill on the 21st, the car hasn't really been driven in anger for a while so off to Hartside I went.

It was a super nice day, sunny, dry, clear!

Mandatory car + scenery shot

Tootling along a dual carriageway on the way home I hear a clunk, a thud, and then a grinding noise, I stop straight away and notice the offside rear brakes have a pad hanging out of the caliper, which was wedged up against the inside of the wheel, bum!

I rolled the car until I couldn't hear any grinding / contact, piled underneath it and then tapped the pad out, bugger!

Thankfully I was a stones throw from home, so I cautiously drove home with little to no braking (just incase), parked the car up, gave it a once over and went in the house. Later as I walked past the car I was confronted with the pic below! obviously I tasted it, even though I knew what it was!!!!

Pressure on the brake pedal caused a jet of fluid from the caliper, as you look at the wheel it would be from the 9 o'clock position, squirting to the left!

Bugger!

I washed the wheel, then put a poly bag over the caliper, placed some poly bags inside the wheel with a microfiber cloth on top incase of any seepage!

Next weekend, Rear brakes fun!

Well, the VTS had another track outing yesterday and it did so well!

It was up at Knockhill, reverse layout, and the weather was AMAZING!

D4MJT was coming up to share some driving so an additional seat went in, along with a slider on the drivers seat, due to me being an elongated human being!

Other than chewing the front nearside tyre up due to the track layout the day went without fault, the car was superb, and I only actually lost it a single time, when trying to catch a CSL (that was never going to happen).

The section of corners after the hairpin were the only "iffy" part of the track, the back of the car was very light over this section and moved about a lot, this is the part I lost it.

I think a diff would be money well spent if I continue to go to knockhill, I was lapping 1:10 ish until I got behind the CSL when I managed a personal best of 1:05.15!

Here's the video :

Looks great on track. You were lucky to get a dry day at knockhill though lol. Last time I was there, the hairpin was like a river!

Keep up the great work!

Yeah dude, basically you stick it in a windscreen mount as it needs a GPS signal, and you can use it to record GPS data, or GPS data & video.

it knows most of the real world tracks so it has checkpoints for when you go round which is cool, also you can see who's online on the day etc.

it doesn't lay the GPS stuff over the video on the fly, you have to export it out together, as you could be using an HD hero for your video and this to capture the GPS stuff, then use something like dashware to merge them

*edit : when you drive you do see the data over the video, but when you view the video back it has no data overlayed, you need to export it, basically I don't think an iphone is powerfull enough to do it on the fly

ooh thats a shame, id have liked to be able to get it on my videos(assuming it recognises sprint/hillclimb tracks too) as it looks cool and so you can pin point where your going wrong and what not.
only problems are id need to by a iphone and its not as crisp looking as full hd altho the sound is way better as my mount vibrates like hell haha

looks good tho
